Two players from the Tri-Bridges club tied for first in the U1300 section of the Eastern Open. I am sure I speak for everyone who comes to the club when I say congratulations on their fine performance. The article about the event was written by Jamaal Abdul-alim.
This page is about the Tri-Bridges Chess Club that meets on Tuesdays at the Exton Community Baptist Church. The club meets from 6:30 to 8:30, though you are welcome to come and go whenever you like.
Club meetings usually have between 15 and 20 players with player strength varying from new players to kids with a rating about 1300. We attempt to pair players of about equal strength in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Some evenings also include a short presentation by an experienced player.
Tri-Bridges got off to a positive start in the season opener of the Masterminds Chess Club Summer League on May 10th, 2014. Leading the way with a perfect score of 4.0 was Harisankar Radhakrishna, competing in the K-8 U1100 section. In the same section, strong performances were turned in by Nickolas Christofides and Alec Khmelnitsky, each scoring 3.0 against quality competition. Jack Lieberman led the way with 2.5 in the K-12 U1400 section. Overall, the Tri-Bridges Chess Club is currently in second place with a score of 17.0, trailing only the Moorish Knights, who have 19.0. With four events to go, it is sure to be an exciting summer of chess! Tri-Bridges Chess Club would eventually go on to win the Masterminds Chess Club Summer League. We had about 15 different kids compete throughout the summer and several kids won Top Player in Grade X. Many thanks to Mana Singh for acting as team manager for this event.
